Proposal: Youth Gatherings for a Brighter Tomorrow

For many years, youth have benefited from gathering and socializing in uplifting environments. These gatherings provide not only fun but also essential opportunities for personal growth, social development, and building lasting memories. However, the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted these vital connections. As a community, we recognize the importance of reinstating these gatherings to support our youth in Utah County.

In partnership with Reach Out Utah, a non-profit organization working tirelessly alongside Commissioner Bill Lee to enhance the lives of our youth, we propose an initiative aimed at reviving the spirit of youth gatherings in a safe and enjoyable manner.

We propose organizing a series of Youth Gatherings, starting at the beginning of the year, to offer our young community members a space for fun, social interaction, and skill development. These gatherings will incorporate elements of old-fashioned dances, building on the traditions of the past while embracing the future.

Each gathering will consist of 45 minutes of dance instruction, providing our youth with the opportunity to learn new skills and improve their self-confidence. Following the instruction, there will be 1.5 hours of interactive dancing, allowing them to practice what they’ve learned and create unforgettable memories.

We plan to hold these gatherings once a month to maintain a consistent and engaging schedule for our youth.

To ensure the safety of our participants, we have assembled a dedicated supervising team with experience in managing youth events. Additionally, we have enlisted a professional DJ to provide high-quality music and entertainment, guaranteeing an unforgettable experience for our attendees.

In addition to the monthly gatherings, we propose organizing formal balls twice a year. These formal events will provide an opportunity for our youth to enjoy a more elegant and sophisticated atmosphere, have a chance to practice what they learned and further enhance their social skills and self-esteem.

Our primary goal is to foster positive interactions among our youth, leading to better mental health, improved self-esteem, and a sense of belonging within the community.

Through these gatherings, we aim to create a supportive environment where our youth can develop lasting friendships and memories that will shape their lives positively.

We invite Salem and the surrounding communities to join us in this initiative to make our area a great place for youth to thrive and flourish. By investing in these Youth Gatherings and formal balls, we can create a bright future for our young generations, filled with positivity, social growth, and meaningful connections.

Together, we can build a community where our youth have the opportunities they need to succeed and become the leaders of tomorrow. We look forward to your support and collaboration in making this vision a reality.
